Forming capital letters and numbers on the slate chalkboard is the next step in writing readiness.  The chalkboard is made of real slate, measuring 4"x6," in a sturdy wood frame.  This board is the same as HWT but has no smiley face.The slate activities improve children's finger dexterity, helping them to develop a good pencil grip.  Writing correct chalk strokes prepares children for pencil strokes.
